To accommodate its recent growth and enhance its ability to effectively serve clients in San Francisco’s East Bay area and the Central Valley, Pohls & Associates will be moving its home office to Walnut Creek, California in October 2010.
The firm originally operated from an office in Walnut Creek between April 1999 and October 2005, when it relocated to San Ramon, California. In tandem with the Los Angeles office that the firm opened in April 2009 and the San Francisco office it opened in April 2010, the new office in Walnut Creek, California will ensure that the firm’s attorneys are rarely more than one hour from the busiest courthouses in California.
The Northern California Life Insurance Association has invited Rob Pohls to speak at its Quarterly Meeting on September 23, 2010. The program will be entitled “Legal Issues for Life Underwriters” and address subjects such as contract formation, materiality, rescissions and post-claim underwriting. The Defense Research Institute has asked Rob Pohls to moderate a program during the plenary session of its Annual Meeting in San Diego on October 21, 2010. The program is entitled “National Health Care Reform: What is it and What Does it Mean?” and will feature distinguished leaders from government and both the public policy and health care sectors: Karen Davenport (Director of Health Policy at Center for American Progress); Robert Moffit, Ph.D. (Director of The Heritage Foundation’s Center for Health Policy Studies); and Robert K. Smoldt (Chief Administrative Officer Emeritus of the Mayo Clinic). More information can be found on DRI’s website: www.dri.org.
The International Claim Association has invited Rob Pohls to speak at its Annual Education Conference in Austin, Texas on October 3-5, 2010. Rob will participate in several programs during the conference: Proving Insurance Fraud – Real Case Studies; Health Care Reform – What Does it Mean?; Mediating Disputed Health Insurance Claims; Rescission is Not a Four-Letter Word; and Long Term Care Insurance: Where It’s Been & Where It’s Going. In April 2010, Pohls & Associates marked its 11th anniversary by opening a new office in San Francisco, California. The new office is located in the heart of San Francisco’s financial district and, in combination with the firm’s existing offices in Los Angeles and San Ramon, adds to the firm’s ability to effectively serve clients throughout California.

Founded in 1962, the Association of California Life and Health Insurance Companies has been the industry’s primary voice in Sacramento for nearly 50 years.
